Nikon NIKKOR Z 35mm f/1.2 S Lens (Nikon Z)

The NIKKOR Z 35mm f/1.2 S is Nikon’s first 35mm f/1.2 prime, joining the 50mm
and 85mm f/1.2 S lenses at the top of the Z line. The wide aperture buys both
low-light capability and strong subject separation at a focal length that keeps
the surroundings in frame, which is what suits it to event, documentary,
lifestyle and environmental portrait work.

Optics

17 elements in 15 groups, including three ED elements against chromatic
aberration and color fringing, and one aspherical ED element controlling
spherical aberration and distortion for edge-to-edge sharpness. A rounded
11-blade diaphragm keeps out-of-focus highlights smooth, and Meso Amorphous,
Nano Crystal and ARNEO coatings reduce ghosting and flare.

Autofocus

• Multi-focusing system with dual STM motors, quiet enough for video.
• Close focus at 13.4″.
• Minimal focus breathing, so framing holds through a focus pull.

Handling

• Clickless control ring, programmable for aperture, exposure compensation or ISO.
• Two customizable L-Fn buttons.
• Dust and drip-resistant sealing.
• 82mm filter thread, shared with the Z 50mm and 85mm f/1.2 S so filters swap between all three.
