Covering a focal range from 70mm to 210mm with a variable maximum aperture, it addresses a practical telephoto zoom range well suited to portraiture, wildlife, sports, and general longer-reach photography. The variable maximum aperture runs from f/4 at the wide end to f/5.6 at full extension, and fully manual operation covers both focus and aperture adjustment directly on the lens.
