The Pentax ME Super is a compact 35mm SLR camera built around Pentax’s K-mount lens system, representing a refined update to the original ME with the addition of manual exposure control alongside the aperture priority automatic mode. It offers aperture priority automatic exposure as its primary shooting mode, with full manual shutter speed control added via push-button controls on the top plate, giving photographers access to a complete range of exposure control from fully automatic through to fully manual. The electronically controlled shutter provides a broad range of shutter speeds, and the through-the-lens metering system displays exposure information within the viewfiner to assist with manual exposure setting. The ME Super was notable at its time for achieving a particularly compact and lightweight body construction while retaining full manual control, building on the original ME’s slim profile. Compatible with the full range of Pentax K-mount lenses spanning both manual focus and autofocus specifications.
