It holds two sheets of 4×5 inch film in a double-sided configuration, allowing two exposures to be made without removing the holder from the camera by sliding out and reversing the dark slide between exposures. The dark slide protects the unexposed film from light when the holder is not inserted in the camera, and a notch code system on the dark slide indicates whether the film in each slot has been exposed. The Regal II design reflects Lisco’s standard construction approach for 4×5 cut film holders, with a lightweight but durable build suited to field and studio large format photography.
