It provides a mechanical gear drive that engages with a lens focus gear ring, allowing smooth and controlled manual focus pulls during video shooting without directly touching the lens barrel. A focus marking disk allows focus positions to be noted and repeated accurately across takes, supporting consistent focus pulls between shots, and adjustable hard stops can be set to limit the focus throw range when needed.
