The Nikon ML-L3 is a compact, ultra-lightweight infrared (IR) wireless remote control designed to trigger your camera’s shutter completely touch-free. Operating from a distance of up to approximately 16 feet (4.87 meters) directly in front of the camera, this pocketsize accessory is an essential tool for landscape, astrophotography, wildlife, and macro photographers.

By eliminating the physical need to press the camera’s shutter button, the ML-L3 prevents introducing micro-vibrations that can ruin image sharpness during critical tripod setups. It is also an ideal solution for stepping into your own group portraits or capturing skittish subjects from a safe distance.

Vibration-Free Shutter Release: Perfect for close-up macro details and time-exposure tracking where even the slightest physical touch can cause camera shake and image blur.

Streamlined Long Exposure Handling: Fully supports your camera’s Bulb exposure setting, unlocking creative potential for low-light night photography, light painting, star trails, and daytime long exposures using neutral density filters.

Time-Exposure Mode (M Mode): When operating the camera in Manual mode, you can select the “- -” shutter option. Pressing the button on the ML-L3 opens the shutter instantly (or after a 2-second delay if using delayed remote mode). The shutter stays open automatically for up to 30 minutes, closing immediately the second time you press the remote button.

Quick Setup Routine: Simply toggle your camera’s drive menu to the remote trigger setting, step away into your scene, and press the remote button to start your shot. Press it once more when you are ready to terminate the exposure.
