The Canon RF 45mm f/1.2 STM is a compact, lightweight full-frame prime lens for the Canon RF mount, offering an f/1.2 maximum aperture at an accessible price point relative to Canon’s L-series fast primes. A rear-focusing design with a fixed-length barrel helps maintain balance on camera and reduces focus breathing across focus distances. Optical construction centers around a single large-diameter precision-molded aspherical element, designed with Canon’s Digital Lens Optimizer corrections in mind to achieve f/1.2 performance in a compact package. Autofocus is driven by a gear-type STM motor paired with a magnetic detection system for smooth, precise operation.
