The body retains the robust magnesium alloy construction and splash, dust, and freeze resistance of its predecessor while adding streaming capability via USB and Wi-Fi, making it a practical option for live content creators. Contrast-detect autofocus with Panasonic’s DFD technology handles subject tracking, with recognition for human subjects including face and eye detection. Continuous shooting is available at up to 20 fps with the electronic shutter. Video remains the GH5 II’s primary strength, with internal 4K recording up to 60 fps, 10-bit 4:2:2 capture, and support for Panasonic’s V-Log L picture profile for expanded dynamic range in post-production. Anamorphic video modes and variable frame rates up to 180 fps at 1080p are also supported. The in-body image stabilization system provides up to 6.5 stops of compensation, extendable with Dual I.S. 2 lenses. A 3.68M-dot OLED viewfinder and fully articulating touchscreen LCD round out the feature set. The GH5 II is compatible with all Micro Four Thirds lenses from Panasonic and Olympus/OM System.
