The Sony FE 24-105mm f/4 G OSS is a wide-angle to short-telephoto standard zoom lens engineered for full-frame Sony E-mount mirrorless cameras. Designed as an all-in-one walk-around optic for travel, event, portrait, and street photography, this G-series lens pairs a versatile focal range with a bright constant f/4 maximum aperture. Built-in Optical SteadyShot (OSS) image stabilization compensates for handheld camera shake, working independently or in tandem with Sony in-body image stabilization (IBIS) systems for steady stills and video capture.

Optically, the lens features four aspherical elements (including two Advanced Aspherical elements) to minimize spherical distortions, alongside three Extra-Low Dispersion (ED) elements to suppress chromatic aberrations and color fringing. Sony’s Nano AR Coating reduces internal reflections, flare, and ghosting, while a front fluorine coating protects the optical element from dirt, oil, and moisture. Focusing is driven by a Direct Drive Super Sonic wave Motor (DDSSM) for fast, quiet, and precise AF performance. The weather-sealed lens barrel is equipped with a customizable focus hold button, AF/MF switch, and a close minimum focusing distance of 1.25 feet with a 0.31x maximum magnification ratio.
