At the core of the HERO3+ Silver is a low-light image sensor paired with a 6-element aspherical glass lens with a fixed f/2.8 aperture. The camera captures Full HD 1920 x 1080p video at 60 fps, as well as 1280 x 720p at 120 fps, and supports both NTSC and PAL video systems. A reduced-distortion aspherical lens combines with user-selectable Ultra-wide, Medium, and Narrow field-of-view options at 1080p, giving photographers flexibility in framing beyond the camera’s default ultra-wide perspective. For stills, the camera supports up to 10MP photos with a burst rate of up to 10 fps, along with a time-lapse mode.
GoPro engineers redesigned the HERO3+ Silver Edition’s audio capture to better handle the subtle, natural sounds of voice and music alongside the immersive sounds of sport, with improved wind-noise reduction. The camera also offers enhanced low-light performance compared to its predecessor, along with a rechargeable lithium-ion battery that lasts 30% longer than the HERO3 battery.
Built-in Wi-Fi is compatible with both the optional Wi-Fi Remote and the GoPro App, allowing full remote camera control and live preview from a compatible smartphone or tablet. The camera comes with a rugged housing waterproof to a depth of 131′ (40m), along with mounting hardware suited to helmets, gear, and other action-sports setups, and is compatible with all GoPro mounts and accessories.
