The Sigma 30mm f/1.4 DC DN Contemporary is a compact, high-speed normal-length prime lens engineered for APS-C-format Sony E-mount mirrorless camera systems. Providing a natural 45mm full-frame equivalent field of view paired with an ultra-bright f/1.4 maximum aperture, this lens delivers a versatile standard perspective suitable for environmental portraits, street photography, documentary assignments, and casual daily shooting. Its optical design features nine elements arranged in seven groups, integrating two precision aspherical elements alongside one high-refractive index (HR) element. Elements are treated with Sigma’s Super Multi-Layer Coating to reduce flare and ghosting, preserving micro-contrast and accurate color fidelity under harsh midday sun or strong backlighting. Autofocus is handled by an internal stepping motor (STM) that provides fast, precise, and near-silent focusing for still capture and smooth tracking during video production.
