As a fly-by-wire E-mount lens, manual focusing is achieved electronically through Sony’s DMF (Direct Manual Focus) mode rather than a direct mechanical connection. Optical SteadyShot (OSS) image stabilization is built in, helping counteract camera shake for sharper handheld results, particularly useful on Sony bodies without in-body stabilization.
