Rent NowThe Minolta MC Rokkor-PF 55mm f/1.7 Manual Focus Lens is a classic standard prime lens designed for Minolta SR-mount 35mm film cameras. Featuring a versatile 55mm focal length and a bright f/1.7 maximum aperture, this lens is well suited for portraits, street photography, everyday shooting, and available-light photography. Its traditional optical design and manual controls provide a classic film photography experience.
The bright f/1.7 maximum aperture allows photographers to work in lower-light environments while providing greater control over depth of field. When shooting at wider apertures, the lens can produce pleasing background separation and soft out-of-focus areas, making it particularly useful for portraiture and creative compositions.
The Rokkor-PF optical design incorporates six elements in five groups, designed to provide sharp image rendering, natural color reproduction, and balanced contrast. Its standard focal length offers a natural perspective, making it a practical choice for a wide range of photographic applications.
Equipped with a mechanical manual focusing system, the lens allows photographers to make precise focus adjustments using the dedicated focusing ring. The aperture ring provides direct control over exposure and depth of field, allowing photographers to select their preferred aperture settings without relying on electronic camera controls.
Constructed with a durable metal lens barrel, the Minolta MC Rokkor-PF 55mm f/1.7 reflects the solid craftsmanship associated with vintage Minolta optics. Its compact design makes it a convenient everyday lens for compatible Minolta manual-focus film cameras. The lens may also be adapted for use with select modern mirrorless camera systems using an appropriate adapter.
The Minolta MC Rokkor-PF 55mm f/1.7 combines a bright maximum aperture, traditional manual operation, and classic optical characteristics in a compact prime lens. It is a suitable option for photographers interested in vintage lenses, manual-focus photography, and the distinctive rendering of classic Minolta optics.
