Canon PowerShot ELPH 180 Digital Camera (Silver)

The Canon PowerShot ELPH 180 Digital Camera (Silver) is a convenient, ultracompact point-and-shoot camera designed for high-resolution shooting in a genuinely portable form factor, well suited to everyday snapshots, travel, and casual photography.

At the core of the ELPH 180 is a 20.0MP, 1/2.3-inch CCD image sensor paired with Canon’s DIGIC 4+ image processor, delivering notable image clarity and sensitivity up to ISO 1600 to support shooting in a variety of lighting conditions. The sensor and processor combination also enables a top continuous shooting rate of 2.2fps (0.8fps sustained) and HD 720p video recording at 25fps.

The integrated lens offers 8x optical zoom, covering a 28-224mm 35mm-equivalent focal range at a variable maximum aperture of f/3.2-6.9, benefitting from Digital Image Stabilization to help minimize the appearance of camera shake. Autofocus uses a 9-point contrast-detection system with multi-area, center, selective single-point, and face-detection modes, along with a minimum focusing distance of 5cm in normal mode or as close as 1cm in macro mode. The shutter offers speeds from 15 seconds to 1/2000 second.

Handling centers on a 2.7-inch, 230k-dot fixed TFT LCD monitor for composing, navigating the menu, and reviewing photos and videos; the camera has no viewfinder or touchscreen. Smart AUTO and Auto Zoom settings simplify shooting for casual users, along with an ECO mode to help extend battery life and a dedicated Help button for quick access to feature explanations. A built-in flash offers a range of approximately 3.00m at Auto ISO.

Build quality centers on a genuinely compact, lightweight body weighing approximately 126g and measuring approximately 95.2 x 54.3 x 22.1mm. The camera stores images on SD/SDHC/SDXC memory cards and connects via USB 2.0 Hi-Speed, and is powered by a rechargeable Canon NB-11L/NB-11LH battery, rated for approximately 220 shots per charge (CIPA standard). The ELPH 180 has no built-in Wi-Fi connectivity.
