The GF 55mm f/1.7 R WR is a fast normal prime for GFX-system cameras,
equivalent to roughly 44mm on full frame — a natural focal length that suits
street work and portraits alike. An f/1.7 aperture is unusually bright for medium
format, giving real control over depth of field and useful latitude in low light,
and an 11-blade diaphragm keeps out-of-focus highlights round.

Autofocus uses a DC motor with a GMR position sensor for fast, accurate
focusing. The lens weighs 1.72 lb and carries weather-resistant sealing for
shooting in rain.
