Imaging Prowess & Rugged Design
The OM-5 Mark II retains the original’s acclaimed 20.4MP Live MOS sensor and TruePic IX image processor. Together, they deliver fast shooting performance, a sensitivity range up to ISO 25600, 4K video recording capabilities, and an impressive continuous shooting rate of up to 30 fps in Pro Capture mode. This mode allows you to half-press the shutter to begin capturing fast-moving subjects before the shutter is fully pressed, ensuring you don’t miss the decisive moment.
An advanced 121-point All Cross-Type Phase-Detection AF system combines both phase-detection and contrast-detection points for quick and accurate focusing. All 121 phase-detection points are cross-type, enhancing precision in mixed lighting and providing superior subject tracking. Diverse focusing modes are available, including Group Target 25-point mode for dynamic subjects like birds and wildlife, as well as Face and Eye subject detection, Starry Sky AF mode, and individual AF area settings for vertical and horizontal positions.

The sensor and processor also support recording both DCI (4096 x 2160) and UHD (3840 x 2160) 4K movies. DCI 4K uses a true 24p frame rate, while UHD 4K is available in frame rates up to 30p. Audio recording is possible with the built-in stereo microphone, and an external mic jack is provided for enhanced audio quality. The camera supports limitless video recording (constrained only by storage and battery), features a Time-lapse Movie mode up to 4K UHD, and can function as a UVC/UAC web camera via USB-C.
