Canon 50mm f1.8 FDn Lens

The Canon 50mm f/1.8 FDn is a standard prime lens built for Canon’s FD mount film SLR system. At 50mm it delivers a field of view closely approximating natural human vision, making it a practical focal length for a wide range of subjects including portraiture, street, and everyday photography. The f/1.8 maximum aperture allows for shooting in low light conditions and provides sufficient depth of field control to achieve background separation when desired. As part of Canon’s later FDn series, it features the simplified breach-lock mounting system that replaced the earlier chrome ring design, allowing for faster lens changes. Optically it represents a compact and lightweight standard lens offering solid performance characteristics typical of Canon’s FD-era glass.
