This lens exhibits multiple significant mechanical and optical defects and is being sold strictly AS-IS / For Parts or Repair. Please review the functional limitations below very carefully before purchasing:
Intermittent Autofocus (AF): The Ring-Type Ultrasonic Motor (USM) focus tracking system works only intermittently. It may lock focus on some attempts but fail or stall entirely on others.
Defective Manual Focus (MF): The physical manual focus mechanism is completely non-functional. Turning the manual focus ring does not shift the internal focus groups.
Stiff Zoom Ring: The mechanical zoom ring is quite stiff and tight to rotate across the 70-200mm range, requiring extra effort to shift focal lengths.
Front Element Scratches: The front glass element has a few physical scratches located off to the side of the objective lens. These scratches do not show up in or affect finalized images, as they sit well outside the plane of critical focus.
Missing Essential Accessories: This unit does not include the lens hood, the removable tripod collar, or the tripod foot.
Included Accessories: Ships with the front and rear lens caps only.
Exterior Chassis: The external cosmetic condition of the lens body remains good, showing standard light wear on the paint and rubber grips but no major structural cracks.
