The Canon EOS Digital Rebel XTi is an entry-level DSLR introduced in 2006 and remains a popular choice among photography students and enthusiasts seeking an affordable camera with strong image quality and access to a wide range of interchangeable lenses. As the successor to the best-selling Rebel XT, it brought several meaningful upgrades while maintaining an easy-to-use design.
Key improvements include a new 10-megapixel APS-C CMOS sensor, an anti-static vibrating low-pass filter to help reduce dust buildup, and Canon’s Dust Delete Data system for post-processing dust correction. The camera also features faster continuous shooting, an improved 2.5-inch LCD with wide viewing angles, RGB histogram display, and refined menu navigation. Additional enhancements include expanded picture styles (including monochrome and user-customizable profiles), improved image parameter controls, and built-in auto noise reduction.
The Rebel XTi was also released as the EOS Kiss Digital N in Japan and the EOS 400D in other international markets. A later successor, the Digital Rebel XSi, followed in 2008.
