Manfrotto Compact Action Aluminum Tripod (Black)

The Manfrotto Compact Action Aluminum Tripod (Black) is a lightweight, five-section camera support designed for photographers and videographers who want a compact, travel-friendly tripod paired with a versatile pistol grip head. It’s well suited to entry-level DSLRs, mirrorless cameras, compact and bridge cameras, GoPros, lights, microphones, and smartphones.

The tripod extends from a minimum height of 17.3 in. (43.9cm) to a maximum height of 61 in. (155cm), using 5-section aluminum alloy legs with flip-style locks and independent leg spread at a 21-degree angle for stable positioning on uneven surfaces. It supports a maximum load capacity of up to 4.4 lb (2kg), making it a practical match for lightweight cameras and standard kit lenses.

A pistol/joystick grip head tops the tripod, offering 360-degree panning along with front tilt from -30 to +90 degrees and lateral tilt from -90 to +90 degrees (specifications vary slightly across product variants). A knob on the head allows quick switching between Photo and Video functions: in Photo mode, the camera moves freely across all axes for maximum compositional control, while Video mode keeps the camera level on the horizontal plane to help achieve smooth, steady pans. The head includes a quick-release plate with a 1/4″-20 camera mounting screw for fast attachment and detachment.

Build quality centers on a Rapid, D-shaped single-section center column and rubber feet for secure footing, with the tripod folding down to a compact 17.8 in. (45.3cm) length and weighing approximately 2.6 lb (1.2kg), making it genuinely portable for travel and everyday carry. A carrying bag is included for protection during transport.
