The Nikon MC-30 is a wired remote shutter release designed for compatible Nikon SLR and DSLR camera bodies equipped with the 10-pin remote terminal. It provides remote shutter release capability without physical contact with the camera body during shooting, reducing the risk of camera shake introduced by pressing the shutter button directly. A two-step trigger mirrors the camera’s shutter button operation, with a half-press for autofocus and metering activation and a full press for shutter release, maintaining normal camera operation remotely. The MC-30 supports bulb mode for long exposure photography, and a lock switch on the release button allows the shutter to be held open in bulb mode without maintaining constant pressure on the trigger.
