Item Condition & AS-IS Notes
Optical Condition (Fungus Present): SOLD AS-IS. Visual inspection reveals noticeable internal optical degradation, showing a combination of both fungus spores and distinct line-pattern fungus growth settled between the inner glass groups.
Performance Impact: Due to this internal fungal blooming, shooting with the lens as-is will result in a drop in overall image contrast, increased highlight blooming, and a softer, distinctly “dreamy” retro character, especially when shooting into bright light. This unit is priced accordingly and makes an excellent candidate for a complete teardown and cleaning project, a technical practice lens, or a budget-friendly lo-fi character optic.
Mechanical Status: The mechanical push-pull barrel moves smoothly for zoom adjustments, the manual focus rotation turns properly, and the physical aperture ring clicks responsively into place. The internal iris blades are dry and snappy.
