Its directional pickup pattern targets sound from in front of the lens while reducing unwanted ambient noise from the sides and rear, making it well suited to on-camera video and run-and-gun shooting. The microphone is a passive design, requiring no battery power, and draws its signal directly through a standard TRS output cable connected to a camera or recorder’s microphone input. An integrated Rycote Lyre shock mount is built into the housing to help minimize handling noise and vibration transferred from the camera body.
