The Sony a7 III is a full-frame mirrorless camera built around a 24.2-megapixel back-illuminated Exmor R CMOS sensor, delivering strong image quality and low-light performance across a wide range of shooting scenarios. It features a 15-stop dynamic range and sensitivity up to ISO 204800, making it well-suited for challenging lighting conditions. The camera uses Sony’s Fast Hybrid AF system, combining 693 phase-detection and 425 contrast-detection points to cover approximately 93% of the frame, with real-time Eye AF for both humans and animals. Continuous shooting reaches up to 10 frames per second with full AF/AE tracking. Video capabilities include internal 4K recording using full pixel readout with no pixel binning, along with S-Log2 and S-Log3 gamma profiles for post-production flexibility. The a7 III features 5-axis in-body image stabilization offering up to 5 stops of compensation and uses Sony’s E-mount, providing access to an extensive native lens ecosystem as well as third-party and adapted glass.
