The Sony DCR-TRV730 is a consumer Digital 8 camcorder that records digital video onto standard Hi-8 and 8mm analog tape cassettes using Sony’s Digital 8 recording format, which encodes digital video data onto the analog tape medium. It captures video at standard definition resolution and features a Carl Zeiss Vario-Sonnar T* optical zoom lens, providing quality optics for a consumer camcorder of its era. A flip-out color LCD screen handles framing and playback, and a built-in electronic viewfinder provides an alternative framing option in bright conditions.
