Sony FX3 Full-Frame Cinema Camera

The Sony FX3 is a compact full-frame cinema camera from Sony’s Cinema Line. It puts much of the FX6’s imaging performance into a small body you can easily rig, which makes it a favorite for indie filmmakers, documentary crews, gimbal and drone operators, and content creators. It uses a 12.1MP back-illuminated full-frame sensor tuned for video, with 15+ stops of dynamic range and dual base ISO (800 and 12,800 in S-Log3), so low-light performance is excellent. It shoots internal 4K up to 120p in 10-bit 4:2:2, with S-Cinetone, S-Log3, and All-Intra recording options, and it can output 16-bit RAW over HDMI to a compatible external recorder. Sony’s Fast Hybrid AF with real-time eye tracking is fast and reliable, and 5-axis in-body stabilization with Active mode makes handheld shots easy. The FX3 is built for long takes: a built-in cooling fan prevents overheating, there are multiple 1/4″-20 mounting points so you don’t need a cage, and tally lamps are built in. The included detachable XLR top handle adds two XLR/TRS inputs for pro audio. The E-mount works with Sony’s full lens lineup, and with adapters it opens up a huge range of vintage and cinema glass.
