The Sony VG-C4EM is a dedicated vertical battery grip designed for full-frame Sony Alpha mirrorless camera bodies (including the a1, a9 II, a7S III, a7R V, a7R IV/IVA, and a7 IV). To ensure intuitive handling matching horizontal operation, the VG-C4EM mirrors the key control layout of compatible Sony camera bodies. It features a secondary vertical shutter release button with a control lock switch, a multi-selector joystick for rapid AF point placement, front and rear command dials, and dedicated AF-ON, AEL, and customizable C1/C2 function buttons. Batteries installed in the grip can be charged directly in-camera via the host body’s USB-C port.
