The Tamron SP 24-70mm f/2.8 Di VC USD G2 is a third-party full-frame standard zoom lens for the Canon EF mount, delivering a constant f/2.8 maximum aperture across a widely used focal range as a compelling alternative to Canon’s first-party offering. The G2 designation marks the second generation of this design, incorporating eBAND and BBAR coatings to reduce flare and ghosting, along with XLD and LD glass elements for improved chromatic aberration control. Vibration Compensation (VC) provides optical image stabilization for handheld shooting, and the USD (Ultrasonic Silent Drive) motor enables fast, quiet autofocus with full-time manual focus override. The minimum focus distance of 15cm at the wide end allows for closer working distances than many lenses in this class.
