Sony HXR-NX800 4K HDR 1″ Sensor NXCAM Camcorder

The HXR-NX800 is a compact 4K HDR camcorder built around a 1.0″-type stacked
Exmor RS CMOS sensor and the BIONZ XR processor, with 5K oversampling and
full-pixel readout feeding UHD 4K60. It’s aimed at solo operators — the
autofocus, auto framing and streaming features all assume nobody else is running
the camera.

Lens and exposure

• 20x G-series optical zoom, 24-480mm equivalent, extending to 30x in 4K and 40x in HD with Clear Image Zoom.
• Built-in variable ND filter from 1/4 to 1/128, adjusted on a dial.
• Full Auto mode taking over ND, iris, gain, shutter and white balance at one button press.
• ATW (Auto-Tracing White Balance) holding color in changing and shaded light.
• Active Mode stabilization combining optical and electronic correction.

Autofocus and framing

• AI deep-learning subject recognition across 81% of the frame.
• Fast Hybrid AF with real-time tracking.
• Auto Framing, which follows a subject and adjusts the frame to keep them positioned — the feature that makes one-person operation practical.

Recording

• UHD 4K to 60 fps; 120 fps in 4K and 240 fps in Full HD.
• Slow motion at 4x from 4K30 and 5x from 4K24p, holding focus throughout.
• XAVC S-I for 10-bit 4:2:2, XAVC HS-L (H.265) or XAVC S-L (H.264) for long GOP.
• S-Cinetone, ITU709 and HLG profiles, color-matchable to Sony Cinema Line cameras.
• Dual card slots taking CFexpress Type A or SD.

Connectivity and audio

• HDMI, USB-A, USB-C, LAN and REMOTE ports.
• Live streaming over Wi-Fi or Ethernet using RTMP/RTMPS and SRT.
• Proxy and original clip upload to cloud or FTP, with automatic transfer and sequential proxy recording; optional Creator’s Cloud for Enterprise C3 Portal app.
• Remote operation and monitoring through the Monitor & Control app over Wi-Fi.
• Four audio channels via the MI shoe and XLR connectors, with adjustable level dials.
