The Sony Alpha a77 II is a high-performance APS-C format camera body built around Sony’s proprietary Translucent Mirror Technology. Featuring a 24.3-megapixel Exmor APS HD CMOS sensor paired with the BIONZ X image processor, the a77 II produces sharp, high-resolution stills and Full HD movies with low noise up to ISO 25,600. Its translucent mirror design constantly directs light to both the imaging and autofocus sensors simultaneously, enabling full-time phase-detection autofocus during rapid continuous shooting up to 12 fps (for up to 26 RAW frames) and continuous video capture.

Focusing is handled by a wide-coverage 79-point AF system featuring 15 cross-type points and a dedicated f/2.8 center point for high-aperture lenses. For framing and playback, the camera offers an XGA OLED Tru-Finder EVF with 100% coverage alongside a 3.0-inch 1,228k-dot 3-way tilting LCD with WhiteMagic technology. Housed in a weather-sealed magnesium alloy chassis with steady-shot INSIDE stabilization, the a77 II supports 1080p video at 60p/24p, clean HDMI output, zebra patterning, focus peaking, built-in Wi-Fi with NFC, and a Multi-Interface shoe.
