The optical construction incorporates 13 elements in 12 groups, including hybrid aspherical elements, to render sharply defined images while minimizing distortion and chromatic aberrations. A UMC (Ultra Multi-Coating) is applied to minimize lens flare and ghosting, and the lens features a fast T1.5 maximum aperture, a T-stop rating reflecting actual measured light transmission rather than a theoretical calculation, valued by cinematographers for consistent, predictable exposure across a matched lens set.
