OM SYSTEM MC-14 M.Zuiko Digital 1.4x Teleconverter

The OM SYSTEM MC-14 M.Zuiko Digital 1.4x Teleconverter is a dedicated accessory designed to extend the effective focal length of select M.Zuiko PRO telephoto lenses on Micro Four Thirds mirrorless cameras, giving photographers additional reach for bird, wildlife, sports, and other long-distance subjects without compromising image quality.

Installed between a compatible lens and a Micro Four Thirds mount camera, the MC-14 provides a 1.4x magnification factor, boosting apparent focal length with only a minimal increase to the overall size or weight of the camera-and-lens combination. For example, it turns the M.Zuiko ED 40-150mm f/2.8 PRO into an effective 56-210mm f/4.0, or the M.Zuiko ED 300mm f/4 IS PRO into an effective 420mm f/5.6, equivalent to 112-420mm and 840mm, respectively, in 35mm format. As with any 1.4x teleconverter, attaching the MC-14 results in a one-stop light loss, with the camera displaying the combined aperture value once attached.

Optically, the teleconverter is built from 6 elements, engineered specifically against its compatible lenses rather than as a generic, universal converter, which is why image quality holds up well at full aperture where third-party converters often struggle. Full electronic communication is maintained between lens and camera, preserving autofocus and other lens functions.

The MC-14 is compatible with a specific range of M.Zuiko PRO lenses, including the ED 40-150mm f/2.8 PRO, ED 50-200mm f/2.8 IS PRO, ED 300mm f/4.0 IS PRO, ED 90mm f/3.5 Macro IS PRO, ED 100-400mm f/5.0-6.3 (both original and IS II versions), ED 150-400mm f/4.5 TC1.25X IS PRO, and ED 150-600mm f/5.0-6.3 IS; it is not a universal accessory and does not fit lenses outside this list.

Build quality includes a metal mount at both ends, matching the durability of the PRO-series lenses it’s designed for, along with IPX1-rated weather sealing for dust-, freeze-, and splash-resistant performance in the field. The teleconverter weighs approximately 105g and measures approximately 22mm in length by 68mm in diameter, adding minimal length to the host lens when attached.
