The Godox Collapsible Diffusion Dome (AK-R22) is a lightweight light modifier designed for select Godox round-head flash systems, increasing the illuminated surface of the light to produce a soft, even glow for more natural, flattering results. It’s well suited to portraiture and group photography, helping decrease contrast and soften the harsh, direct quality of light straight from a flash head.
The dome’s collapsible silicone construction compresses completely flat for storage and transport, making it one of the more travel-friendly flash modifiers available, while expanding into any of three distinct positions for shooting: fully expanded for maximum softening and the widest light spread, partially collapsed for moderate diffusion with more directional control, or minimally extended for subtle softening while retaining more light output. This locking, multi-position design lets photographers creatively adjust the light’s spread and character to match the scene.
The dome attaches via a simple slip-on method and is compatible with Godox’s round-head flash systems, including the V1, V1 Pro, and V100 series, the AD100Pro Pocket Flash, and the AD200Pro Pocket Flash when fitted with the Witstro H200R round flash head.
Build quality centers on a soft, collapsible silicone material, keeping the dome genuinely lightweight and load-free on the flash unit it’s attached to. It measures approximately 4.8 x 4.8 x 3.9 in. (12.2 x 12.2 x 10cm) and weighs approximately 0.2 lb (0.1kg).
