Rent NowThe Canon EOS R5 is a professional full-frame mirrorless camera designed for photographers and filmmakers who need high resolution, fast performance, and advanced video capabilities. Featuring a 45MP full-frame CMOS sensor paired with Canon’s DIGIC X image processor, the EOS R5 delivers detailed imagery with an ISO range of 100-51200, expandable to ISO 102400.
For fast-moving subjects, the EOS R5 is capable of continuous shooting at up to 12 fps with its mechanical shutter and up to 20 fps with the electronic shutter. This performance makes it well suited for sports, wildlife, events, weddings, and other applications where both speed and high-resolution image quality are important.
Video capabilities include internal DCI 8K RAW recording at up to 30 fps along with 4K recording at up to 120 fps. Canon Log and 10-bit 4:2:2 recording provide additional flexibility for professional color grading and post-production workflows, while clean HDMI output allows the camera to be incorporated into external recording setups.
Canon’s Dual Pixel CMOS AF II system provides 1053 selectable focusing points with coverage across nearly the entire image frame. Advanced subject detection and tracking can recognize people and animals, including eye, face, and head detection, providing responsive autofocus performance for both still photography and video.
Built-in five-axis sensor-shift image stabilization helps reduce camera shake during handheld shooting and can work together with compatible optically stabilized lenses for additional stabilization. A 5.76m-dot electronic viewfinder and 3.2-inch vari-angle touchscreen provide flexible options for composing and reviewing images from a variety of shooting positions.
The camera features both CFexpress Type B and SD UHS-II memory card slots, along with external microphone and headphone connections for video production. Built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth provide wireless connectivity for file transfers, remote operation, and compatible mobile workflows.
