The OM SYSTEM M.Zuiko Digital ED 12-45mm f/4 PRO Lens is the world’s smallest, lightest medium-range zoom lens with a fixed aperture value, designed to fit right in with OM System’s compact, portable OM-D camera line. Covering a 24-90mm full-frame-equivalent focal range, this standard wide-angle to portrait-length zoom suits a wide variety of everyday shooting situations.

Optically, the lens is built from 12 elements in 9 groups, including one DSA element, one Super HR (High Refractive Index) element, two additional HR elements, two aspherical elements, and two ED (Extra-low Dispersion) elements, generating sharpness right to the edge of the frame across the entire zoom range while suppressing spherical aberrations, color fringing, and distortion. OM System’s ZERO (Zuiko Extra-low Reflection Optical) coating minimizes lens flare and ghosting for improved contrast and color fidelity in strong lighting. A rounded 7-blade diaphragm produces smooth, pleasing bokeh.

Autofocus uses OM System’s MSC (Movie & Still Compatible) high-speed autofocus system, delivering fast, accurate focusing well suited to both stills and video. The lens offers a close minimum focusing distance of 0.12m (4.7 in.) at the wide end, extending to 0.23m (9.1 in.) at the telephoto end, yielding an impressive 0.25x maximum magnification ratio (0.5x 35mm-equivalent), well suited to close-up subjects in addition to standard zoom shooting.

Build quality is a standout feature, with a smart nine-seal weather-sealing system effectively keeping out rain, dust, and dirt, consistent with M.Zuiko PRO-line construction standards.
