The Saramonic SR-TM1 Cardioid Condenser Shotgun Microphone is a professional medium-length shotgun microphone designed to deliver clear, broadcast-quality sound to video cameras, audio recorders, and DSLR and mirrorless cameras equipped with an XLR adapter. Acoustically, the SR-TM1 uses a line gradient, cardioid-pattern condenser capsule, delivering enhanced rejection of signal at the rear and sides of the capsule for clear, focused pickup of sound directly in front of the microphone. Unlike many shotgun microphones, its polar pattern has no pronounced rear lobe, giving it an exceptional ability to suppress unwanted off-axis sound. Frequency response spans 40 Hz to 20 kHz, with a sensitivity of -30 to -35dB (depending on source) and a dynamic range of up to 120dB, along with a maximum output of 10dBu.

Onboard controls include a selectable 150Hz high-pass filter to reduce low-frequency rumble from HVAC systems or street traffic, a +6dB high-frequency boost to restore clarity and speech intelligibility when a windscreen or blimp is in place, and a -10dB pad to attenuate input and prevent clipping when recording loud sound sources. These digital switch settings are retained even when the microphone is powered off.

The microphone can be powered either by standard 48V phantom power or its built-in rechargeable lithium-ion battery, which provides up to 150 hours of operation and recharges via the included micro-USB cable, letting the SR-TM1 function without external power when needed. Audio output is delivered via a standard 3-pin XLR connector for connecting directly to a camera, mixer, or microphone preamp.

Build quality centers on an all-metal housing, and because it relies on an internal battery rather than a separate battery compartment, the SR-TM1 remains notably lightweight compared to other shotgun microphones with similar features.
