It’s well suited to architectural shots, sweeping landscapes, confined interiors, and other scenes benefiting from an expansive, immersive horizontal perspective.

The lens enlarges horizontal field of view by up to 60% through its 1.6x anamorphic squeeze, delivering a horizontal field of view equivalent to a wider 22mm spherical full-frame lens, letting cinematographers see well to the left and right of their subject. Captured footage de-squeezes to a 2.8:1 aspect ratio in 16:9 shooting, or 2.4:1 in 3:2 shooting, and the 1.6x squeeze ratio is designed to remain constant throughout the entire focus range, meaning subject size doesn’t shift unexpectedly during a focus pull.
