The Tamron SP AF 17-35mm f/2.8-4 Di LD Aspherical (IF) is an ultra-wide-angle zoom lens engineered for full-frame FX-format, DX-format (providing a 25.5-52.5mm equivalent focal length range), and 35mm film Nikon F-mount SLR cameras. Combining an expansive field of view with an exceptionally lightweight and compact barrel design, this lens is well-suited for landscapes, architectural interiors, travel, street photography, and environmental documentary work. The fast, bright f/2.8 maximum aperture at the 17mm wide end affords enhanced low-light performance and creative depth-of-field control.

As part of Tamron’s Digitally Integrated (Di) series, the optical configuration is optimized to meet the high performance and resolution demands of digital SLR sensors while remaining fully compatible with 35mm film cameras. The lens incorporates Low Dispersion (LD) glass elements and molded aspherical elements to suppress chromatic aberrations, color fringing, and spherical distortion, while significantly reducing peripheral light fall-off (vignetting) in the corners of the frame. Engineered with an Internal Focusing (IF) system, focus adjustments take place entirely inside the barrel, preventing physical extension and keeping the 77mm front filter thread non-rotating.
