Built around an advanced 26.0-megapixel APS-C / Super 35 Exmor R back-illuminated CMOS sensor and powered by the flagship BIONZ XR processing engine, the FX30 captures 6K-oversampled UHD 4K video at up to 60p with full pixel readout, as well as high-speed 4K up to 120p (with a 1.6x crop) and Full HD at up to 240p for dramatic slow-motion playback. Delivering over 14 stops of dynamic range in S-Log3, it incorporates a Dual Base ISO architecture (ISO 800 and ISO 2500) to ensure clean shadow rendition and low-noise capture in low-light shooting environments.
Designed for comprehensive color management across rapid-turnaround and multi-camera post-production workflows, the camera includes Sony’s S-Cinetone profile—borrowed directly from the VENICE cinema line—alongside Cine EI, Cine EI Quick, and Flexible ISO shooting modes, custom user 3D LUT import, and internal 10-bit 4:2:2 All-Intra (XAVC S-I) encoding. Outputting 16-bit RAW video through its full-size HDMI Type-A terminal to supported external recorders, the FX30 also records detailed gyro and lens metadata for stabilization and breathing compensation in Catalyst Browse.
