The MagMod MagBeam Kit is a versatile, magnetic flash modifier system designed to give photographers precise, snoot-like control over their speedlight’s beam from a distance, whether shooting a wedding, portrait session, or wildlife scene. It’s part of MagMod’s broader modular lighting system, aimed at photographers who want fast, tool-free control over light shape without fumbling with straps, Velcro, or DIY contraptions.

At the core of the kit is the MagBeam itself, a collapsible fresnel lens modifier that uses a series of concentric circles to concentrate and intensify a flash’s output into a powerful, focused beam, offering snoot-like precision but with far greater strength. The included Tele Lens focuses the flash beam and boosts output by 2-3 stops, while the MagBeam’s collapsible design lets photographers select between multiple spotlight positions, each producing a distinct beam pattern with crisp, defined edges. A separate Wide Lens (included in the full MagBeam Kit, as opposed to the smaller Wildlife Kit) enables the use of MagMasks, metal gobos that project custom light patterns onto a subject or background, and this kit includes a standard set of masks to get started.

The system connects via the MagGrip, a stretchable silicone band embedded with two powerful neodymium rare-earth magnets that fits most on-camera flash heads, giving a secure, damage-free mount for the entire MagMod accessory line. Because the magnets snap modifiers into place instantly, photographers can add or remove the MagBeam and other MagMod pieces in a fast-paced shooting environment without interrupting their workflow, and the MagBeam is stackable with other MagMod accessories such as grids and gels, sold separately.
