The Blackmagic Design ATEM Mini Pro HDMI Live Stream Switcher is a compact, self-contained live production switcher built for photographers and videographers who need professional-quality multi-camera switching, streaming, and recording without a computer or external streaming software. It’s fast to set up and remarkably easy to use, well suited to webinars, conferences, live streams, and other live productions.

At its core, the switcher offers 4 standards-converted HDMI inputs, supporting popular HD formats up to 1080p60, letting photographers switch live between four high-quality video sources in real time simply by pressing an input button labeled 1 to 4 on the front panel, with the option to choose cut or effects transitions via dedicated buttons. A built-in DVE (Digital Video Effects) engine allows picture-in-picture effects well suited to commentary, along with a chroma keyer, linear/luma keyers, a pattern generator, and color generators for more advanced productions.

A key feature of the Pro model is its hardware encoder for direct live streaming via Ethernet to platforms like YouTube Live, Facebook, Twitch, and others, using Real Time Messaging Protocol (RTMP) over Ethernet or a shared mobile internet connection over USB-C, eliminating the need for a computer or additional streaming software. Simultaneous recording directly to USB flash disks in H.264 format is also supported, letting photographers stream and record a finished program at the same time. A USB Type-C connection also lets the unit function like a webcam, compatible with any third-party streaming software.

A professional multiview lets users see all four video inputs at once, along with media, preview, and program feeds, plus live status indicators for recording, streaming, and audio levels. The built-in Fairlight audio mixer offers 2-channel digital audio mixing per source with EQ and dynamics processing (compression, gating, and limiting), fed by two 3.5mm stereo mini-jack audio inputs in addition to the embedded audio carried over each HDMI input. The included free ATEM Software Control app, along with a 20-still media pool for titles, rounds out the production toolset.

Build quality includes a compact chassis measuring approximately 9.35 x 4.07 x 1.38 inches and weighing about 0.55kg, with Ethernet connectivity (10/100/1000 BaseT) supporting live streaming, software control, software updates, and direct or networked control panel connections. Power is supplied via a 12VDC input, with power consumption rated at 36W.
