At the core of the X4 is a 1/2-inch dual-lens sensor system paired with an f/1.9 aperture, delivering an effective 35mm-equivalent focal length of 6.7mm per lens. The camera captures 8K 360° video at 30/25/24fps using efficient H.265 compression, a 78% increase in pixel count over 5.7K that makes reframed footage hold its own against video shot on a standard camera. It also supports 5.7K+ at up to 30fps, 5.7K at up to 60fps, and 4K at up to 100fps for super slow-motion capture, with a maximum video bitrate of 200Mbps. Photo capture reaches 72MP (11904×5952) in 360° mode, or 18MP (5888×2944), saved in INSP or DNG RAW formats.
Insta360’s FlowState Stabilization and 360° Horizon Lock work together to deliver smooth, consistently level footage even during intense action, while the Invisible Selfie Stick effect removes the mounting pole from finished 360 footage for seamless third-person perspectives.
