The Sony E 10-20mm f/4 PZ G Lens brings Power Zoom functionality and G Lens optical quality to the ultra-wide side of Sony’s APS-C format mirrorless system, delivering an equivalent 15-30mm field of view. An excellent everyday choice for travel and content creation, it’s equally suited to vlogging, landscape, and architectural photography.

Optically, the lens covers a 10-20mm focal range with a constant f/4 maximum aperture, built from 11 elements in 8 groups, including two Extra-low Dispersion (ED) elements, three aspherical elements, and one ED Aspherical element, controlling chromatic aberration and distortion for sharp, clear results throughout the zoom range. A 7-blade diaphragm with curved aperture blades contributes to smooth background rendering, with an aperture range of f/4 to f/22.

A standout feature of this lens is its integrated Power Zoom mechanism, letting photographers adjust focal length using a lever on the lens barrel, a dedicated zoom ring, or (on select Sony camera bodies) on-camera zoom controls, giving videographers smooth, motorized zoom transitions. Autofocus is handled by a dual linear motor system, delivering quick, quiet, and accurate focusing well suited to both stills and video, with Smooth Motion Optics suppressing focus breathing for cleaner-looking focus pulls. A programmable focus hold button adds further direct control.

The lens offers a minimum focusing distance of 5.1 in. (13cm) at the 10mm position, extending to 6.7 in. at 20mm, yielding a maximum magnification of 0.18x; its closest focusing distances at both ends are achievable only in manual focus. Build quality includes dust- and moisture-resistant construction, well suited to working in less-than-ideal outdoor conditions. The lens is remarkably compact and lightweight, measuring approximately 70mm in diameter by 55mm in length and weighing approximately 176-178g, and accepts a 62mm filter thread. It does not include optical image stabilization, relying instead on in-body stabilization on compatible Sony camera bodies. A petal-shaped lens hood is included.
